The inaugural meeting of the "YÖK Anatolian Project", which shared with the public by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the first time at the 2020-2021 Higher Education Year Opening Ceremony, has been held at the Presidential Complex. Vice President Fuat Oktay, President of YÖK Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç, members of the Council of Higher Education, concerned ministers, heads of institutions, rectors, department heads and project coordinators of universities attended the introductory meeting which was held with the participation of President Erdoğan. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Erkan and the General Secretary of our university Assoc. Prof. İbrahim Baz have also participated in the introductory meeting of the "YÖK Anatolian Project " prepared to support the development of young universities. The musical concert titled "Anatolian Tunes" was first performed by Hacettepe University conservatory students in the meeting. After the music concert, the promotional film of the "YÖK Anatolian Project", which includes the support of "young universities" established after 2006 by "senior universities" in terms of manpower and research infrastructure, was screened. President of YÖK Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç gave information about their work as "New YÖK" and shared the details of the YÖK Anatolian Project, in his inaugural speech. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the other hand, stated that he is very pleased that the YÖK Anatolian Project, which he announced at the opening of the 2020-2021 academic year, has been implemented. Thanking those who contributed to the preparation of the project, especially YÖK, President Erdoğan said that due to the investments they made in infrastructure and human resources in the past 18 years, the Turkish higher education system is at a really advanced level today.
